Startup San Diego Website Re-Design & Optimization
Design Lead
I led a collaborative effort to revamp and optimize the organization's website. With a focus on user experience and SEO, me and my team redesigned the site and consolidated San Diego Startup Week under the main URL. This strategic overhaul resulted in a significant 33% increase in monthly site visitors, averaging 80,000+ unique visits. Additionally, the newly designed website attracted more potential sponsors, with an average of 3-5 form submissions per month. The project received praise from Startup San Diego stakeholders and board members, affirming the success of this reimagined and revitalized website.

San Diego Startup Week Marketing Campaign

As the Marketing and Design Lead for San Diego Startup Week 2023, I spearheaded a cohesive and innovative marketing campaign aimed at attracting over 1,500+ attendees. With a theme of "Growing the Creative Coast," we utilized various channels including social media, blogs, and videos to engage the community and showcase the unique features of each day's events, including a special day in Tijuana, Mexico. By creating graphics, individual blogs, and dedicated livestreams for each keynote, we successfully increased website traffic by 20%, garnered over 100,000+ social media impressions, and achieved increased engagement across multiple platforms. The success of this campaign not only boosted event attendance but also positioned San Diego as a thriving hub of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Livestream Solutions for Startup San Diego Events & Reports

I tackled the challenge of ensuring that no community member missed out on the enriching startup panel discussions and Q&A sessions. To address this, I leveraged the power of Streamyard and Instagram Live to create a seamless livestream experience. By broadcasting these events to Startup San Diego's various social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter, we were able to reach a wider audience and facilitate real-time engagement through likes, comments, and shares. The results were remarkable, with over 1,000+ collective views on the inaugural livestream and 50+ sign-ups and viewers for the quarterly report. This innovative solution not only provided attendees with greater access to valuable startup information but also fostered a stronger sense of community engagement.

At the World Design Festival 2024, powered by Tijuana Design Week, livestream coverage helped bridge the physical and digital of this landmark design celebration, reflecting the festival’s theme of intertwining past, present, and future through design. By capturing featured speakers and keynotes, we helped extend the festival’s impact beyond the physical venues scattered throughout the city, contributing to the broader mission of building connections within the design community. The livestreaming effort aligned with the festival’s goals of fostering creative expression and innovative design while making the content accessible to a wider audience.

Startup Spotlight Podcast

The Startup Spotlight by Startup San Diego was first started as a blog interviewing local founders in the San Diego area and having founders share their story on how they built there startup. Startup San Diego wanted to recreate more meaningful content that would highlight the startup while being able to repurpose it for different platforms, with the goal to inspire and educate other founders. Thus, the Startup Spotlight Podcast was born. In collaboration with the Jacobs Center Business Accelerator we were able to interview founders, shoot full interviews, create informative reels and share it with the startup community.
